The following are some of the major upcoming events taking place within Friends United Meeting in North America. These events help to strengthen us as part of the worldwide Body of Christ. Don’t see an event that should be listed? Let us know!
Quaker Spring is an ongoing experiment in what a deeply Spirit-led gathering can look like. Drawing together Christian and Christian-curious Friends from across North America, Quaker Spring is an opportunity to gather in simplicity and let go of tightly-wound schedules, and to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit together. This year’s gathering will be held June 21-26, 2013 at Woolman Hill in Deerfield, Massachussetts.
This fifth annual gathering of Christ-centered Friends from the Northeast at Powell House will explore the radical discipleship among those early “friends” and how we might better live as disciples of Jesus. This weekend retreat runs Friday-Monday, August 30 – September 2, 2013.
This September 20-22, explore what it means to practice ongoing care for and ministry to our youth and young adults. What does it look like to lead a sustainable lifestyle, avoiding burnout while caring for younger Friends? What does it mean to experience the Sabbath rest that Jesus offers us (Matthew 11:28-30)?
