Friends United Meeting (FUM) is seeking qualified applicants for our Shipping and Maintenance
Supervisor position. This part-time (16 hours per week), Richmond (IN) based staff person will
receive a competitive wage along with retirement benefits.

Job Description
Job Title: Shipping and Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Support Services
Employment Status: Part-time—16 hours per week
Qualifications: Strong organizational ability and time management skills. Able to work
independently and exercise good judgment and keep safety standards in carrying out
tasks. Position includes physical labor, so the person will need to be in good health
and able to lift 50 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to work in a

Reports to: General Secretary
Job Summary:
Oversee the shipping and receiving of all FUM materials. Provide maintenance and
upkeep on the FUM office building, grounds and equipment.
Basic Responsibilities:
bulk mailings and prepare mailing forms, add postage, post and deposit all mail. Track postage
expenses by department.
shipped (UPS, USPS, Federal Express, etc).
condition and submit packing list to Administrative Assistant for entry into inventory. Assist
with annual inventory process. Advise Administrative Assistant when reorder of shelved books
is required.
material purchases and contract for necessary services in consultation with the General
Secretary. Obtain bids for larger purchases and contracts.
maintaining towel/soap dispensers; empty trash; vacuum/sweep/dust; minor electrical/
plumbing; snow removal from walks; parking lot striping; care of grounds; minor hedge and
tree trimming; change filters and lubricate motors in AC/heat units.
