North
American Ministries
Friends
United Meeting works with our member yearly meetings in North America
to help Friends share the Gospel with seekers, to encourage youth and
new leadership, and to support one another with prayer ministries.
Yearly
Meeting Consultations
Friends United Meeting works with our member yearly meetings in North
America to strengthen our common work. We have hosted gatherings for Youth
Directors, Peace Committees and Emerging Leaders among others.
Evangelism and Outreach
We publish materials like the "You
are Welcome Among Friends" brochure which is widely used for
visitors to Friends Meetings. We also direct hundreds of inquires to Friends
resources and Meetings each year. In addition, the North American Ministries
Committee of Friends United Meeting is developing a long-term plan to
share the Christian faith of Friends with seekers and the general public,
and to prepare materials that will help Meetings receive seekers and,
where appropriate, start new worship groups.
Prayer Resources
- The annual Chain of Prayer links Friends around the World in
prayer. Follow this link for information about the Chain
of Prayer. The theme of the 2008 Chain of Prayer is "United?
YES!"
- In addition, the staff of Friends United Meeting meet weekly for prayer
and worship. We would be glad to pray with you send your prayer
concern.
Christian Education
Friends United Meeting offers a variety of Christian education resources.
These may be purchased through Friends
United Press. Many of these study materials are perfect for home study
groups and semi-programmed worship groups.
