Since 1869, and despite the political volatility of the region, the Ramallah Friends Schools have continued to serve the needs of Palestinian families, providing educational excellence built upon the Quaker values of peace, equality and non-violence. Unique in many ways, the school commits itself to developing the whole person — physical, mental, spiritual and social — regardless of varying abilities. Through blending traditional educational techniques with novel approaches the Ramallah Friends Schools strive to help each student recognize her or his responsibility to a society as a caring member of the local community as well as to the global family. Friends United Meeting recognizes the importance of the partnership the school has with the Ramallah community and supports the school financially a well as by providing a director for the schools. The schools are coeducational and serve over 1,170 students from grades K–12.
