Global Ministries:
Pastor-in-Charge Isaiah Bikokwa (right) Samburu Friends Mission in Kenya, East Africa, began in 1995 under the leadership of Isaiah Bikokwa. The Samburu people are from the ethnic group of the Masaai, who are cattle herders. The Samburu Friends Mission follows four main objectives: evangelism, health services, education and peace. They have five locations for worship, two dispensaries, two nursery schools, one primary school and weekly meetings with the three warring tribes to work toward peace and reconciliation. Samburu’s basic operating expenses average about $24,000 annually. Many times this budget is not met due to lack of funding. In those times, the pastors and staff sacrifice their salaries to keep the mission running. Another concern is for staff and guest housing. Currently the mission has one two-room house, which serves as living quarters for three staff members, a guesthouse and the mission kitchen. A vehicle is yet another need. The mission truck is over 20 years old with more than half a million kilometers on it. It served Samburu well, but desperately needs to be replaced, as it is now out of service. A new truck will cost approximately $35,000. Much more financial assistance is required to help this mission meet
its many needs. Please consider how you might be willing to support this
important work of Samburu Friends Mission.
